The Hiraeth project was led by MA Choreography student Isabella Ng. It was a collaborative piece made and performed by four dancers and the choreographer.
Over the course of two months, I was involved in the creative process and performance. This included making a research and development recording and the subsequent viewing, editing and refining process to create a piece for a virtual festival showing.
Hiraeth focused on how choreographers use movement to communicate a message to an audience from geographical locations all around the world, with different cultural influences and social backgrounds. Working with an Asian choreographer brought in styles from her own cultural experience fused with contemporary dance.
